Welcome!
Solvitur Ambulando is Latin for “It is solved by walking.” It expresses both my own creative process (so much comes to me on my walks!) and my outlook on the Christian faith: by walking the path of faith, we discover its meaning, purpose, and value; some of our questions are answered, some of our doubts are resolved, and some mysteries remain mysteries but that’s okay, too. It is a journey made in community and I invite community response. I hope what you find here is helpful to your life or your ministry. My goal is to explore faith with folks who are curious, and even with those who are pretty sure they don’t need faith or religion in their life at all. I welcome your comments and questions.

About Me
I’m Joanne Whitt, a spiritual director, a semi-retired pastor/guest preacher, and former lawyer. This blog is where I comment on life, faith, and the lectionary passages from a progressive Christian perspective on the West Coast of the United States. I’m more interested in practicing my faith (i.e., love your neighbor as yourself) than in particular beliefs and doctrines, and I’m pretty convinced Jesus was, too.
